We brought Jim Gerritsen to Portland for our Urban Earth Day event on Sunday, April 22. We gathered outside in Monument Square from 11am - 3pm with the kind sponsored by MENSK.  Jim is excited to come and meet his Occupy supporters in Portland. He is an organic farmer who runs a potato farm in Maine, and is also the president of an organic seed bank that is based in Colorado.  He is in litigation with Monsanto to forge rights for organic farmers to protect the organic standard.  Back in December, he took his first trip ever to New York City to participate in #OWS Farmers March. We finished out the day with a potluck dinner where longer talk with Jim.
